The printed book

Coming soon

A hardcover of your stories, coming soon.

Quiddity’s printed book is coming soon: a 7 × 10 inch, full-color hardcover of the stories you choose, with a QR code at the end of each story that opens that story online.

Nothing can be ordered yet. When the book arrives, here is what it will be — and until then, every story stays in your archive, word for word, with its recording.

What it will be

The printed book is coming soon. You will choose which stories go in, their order, the title and a cover photo. A story you have kept to yourself or to one person will be left out unless you include it yourself, because a printed book cannot be un-shared.

Two editions

When the printed book arrives (coming soon), you will choose its edition: Verbatim, every word printed exactly as spoken (the edition if you never choose), or Readable, your spoken words set as readable prose that you review before anything is printed. Either way, the original recordings and word-for-word transcripts are never changed.

A way back to the voice

Paper cannot play sound, so in the printed book (coming soon) every story will carry a small QR code. Scanning it with a phone will open that story online: its words exactly as spoken, its photos, and its recording in the storyteller’s own voice, unless that recording also holds another story. If a story is later removed or made private, its code will no longer open it.

Ordering

Ordering is coming soon. The book will ship to addresses in Canada and the United States, and its price, with shipping, will be shown before you pay.
