Privacy Policy

When you use Quiddity, we collect the following categories of personal information:

• Voice recordings — audio captured during your recorded interview sessions
• Transcripts — verbatim text generated from your voice recordings
• Profile information — your name and any personal details you choose to share in your stories
• Account information — email address and authentication credentials
• Payment information — processed by Stripe; WizerAI does not store card numbers
• Usage data — session counts, feature usage (no behavioural advertising)

All information is collected with your explicit consent and used solely to create and preserve your personal life story archive.

Your voice recordings are processed by third-party service providers located outside Canada to deliver core Quiddity features:

• ElevenLabs Inc. (United States) — voice cloning and text-to-speech synthesis to power the Avatar feature
• Krisp Technologies (United States / EU) — audio noise enhancement for improved recording quality
• OpenAI (United States) — Whisper speech-to-text transcription of your recorded sessions

By checking the voice data consent checkbox during onboarding, you have explicitly authorized the transfer of your voice data to these providers outside Canada for processing, as permitted under PIPEDA. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the purposes described above and to protect it with industry-standard security measures.

Your voice recordings and transcripts are never sold or shared with any other third party, and are never used for advertising, model training beyond your own voice clone, or any other purpose.

• To create and store your personal life story archive
• To enable your designated Guardians to access and interact with your archive
• To power the Avatar feature (voice clone + story retrieval)
• To process your subscription or one-time payment
• To respond to support requests
• To send transactional emails (e.g., Guardian invitations, purchase receipts)

We do not use your personal information for behavioural advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating your archive.

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction — request corrections to inaccurate personal information
• Withdrawal of consent — withdraw your consent at any time (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Challenge — challenge our compliance with PIPEDA

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations.

Upon account cancellation or a written deletion request, we will delete all your personal data within 30 days, including voice recordings, transcripts, and profile information stored on our servers and with our third-party processors.

Backups may retain data for up to an additional 30 days before permanent deletion. Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Canadian tax law.

Memorial Mode is a feature that allows designated Guardians to permanently preserve your archive after your passing. Once activated, the archive is locked and cannot be modified or deleted through normal account operations.

Estate executors may contact our Privacy Officer to initiate a data deletion review. Requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the Creator's expressed wishes and applicable law. Please provide legal documentation of your authority when submitting such a request.

The Creator's explicit consent — captured during onboarding and stored with a timestamp — constitutes their authorization for posthumous access by designated Guardians.

We protect your personal information with:

• AES-256 encryption at rest for all stored data
• TLS encryption in transit for all data transfers
• Row-Level Security policies at the database level (no application-layer bypass)
• Access controls limiting Quiddity staff from reading your stories or audio
